Where to start…

Hannah Day is a professional photographer based in Austin, Texas. Hannah’s career started at a young age with a small square format camera that she bought at a garage sale. She studied photography at The University of Texas at Austin and moved on to Austin Community College, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Photography. Soon after graduation from ACC, she transferred to The School of the Art Institute of Chicago to complete her Bachelor’s Degree. While working on her BFA, she exhibited at Purdue University’s Red Gallery, Art Outside in Austin and Gallery 2 in the West Loop of Chicago.

Austin Portrait Photographer…

After moving back home to her beloved Austin, Hannah began working as an assistant at a local high-end portrait studio. During this time she has started to make a name for herself in the Austin photography scene. She is beginning to establish a strong client base, through the help of silent auctions and word-of-mouth. Hannah currently shares a studio in South Austin and runs the majority of her post-production and accounting out of her apartment, which she shares with her beloved husband. Hannah signs a limited number of weddings per year, but her true love is photographing children, newborns and families. As she spreads her wings in developing her business, she has found that a new photographic interest lies in senior and bridal portraits.

Free time in Austin…

Hannah loves attending local theatre productions, broadening her photographic talents and enriching her wonderful marriage with her husband in her spare time. Being an Austintite, she also enjoys frequenting her very favorite spots around the Austin area…Maudie’s, Austin Java and Kerby Lane (to just name a few!).

Hannah worked for a political consulting firm in Chicago, IL for a year or so. She photographed various political events, aldermen’s headshots and public meetings. While in Austin she has photographed at Shepherd of the Hills for Grandparent’s Day, Buda Pee-wee Soccer games and she will be photographing Compass Learning’s corporate events in July 2008.
